qodesign vs Park UI
Park UI is a free, MIT-licensed design system built on Ark UI and Panda CSS for React and Solid. Its CLI copies each component's source and recipe into your project, so you own and edit them, and the docs pitch that open code as easy for AI tools to read. It needs Panda CSS set up first. qodesign is narrower: animated flows like a login, a tab bar or a checkout, sold one at a time as a single HTML file and a React + Tailwind version.
| qodesign | Park UI | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $3 each, or $29 once for all of them (the Shelf) | Free. The repo is MIT and park-ui.com lists no paid plan |
| Free | 1 free component, no account needed | Every component: buttons, forms (combobox, date picker, file upload, pin input, select, slider and more), overlays, navigation, layout and typography, plus a Figma kit |
| Size | 17 components, more added as they ship | A full design system of accessible primitives with one shared set of sizes and five shared variants (solid, subtle, surface, outline, plain) |
| What's in a download | React + Tailwind (TSX), PROMPT.md, HTML file | See their site |
| Licence | Personal, commercial and client projects; no reselling the source | MIT, as listed for chakra-ui/park-ui on GitHub (the project now sits with Chakra Systems) |
| Stack | React + TypeScript, Tailwind (most also use Framer Motion), HTML version included | Built on Ark UI (headless) and Panda CSS, for React and Solid. You need a Panda CSS project first, then npm install @ark-ui/react lucide-react, npx @park-ui/cli init, and npx @park-ui/cli add button. Components arrive as source code in your repo, not as an npm package |
| Best for | One memorable animated moment in your app (login, checkout, nav, dashboard) | Teams building their own design system on Panda CSS who want to own every component's source and recipe |
Which one to pick
- Pick Park UI if
- You're on Panda CSS (or happy to adopt it) and want a complete, accessible base set of components whose code lives in your repo.
- Pick qodesign if
- Your app runs on Tailwind and you want one screen to move in a way people notice, with a PROMPT.md your AI editor can follow, without switching styling systems.
